This is our preferred form of payment. The unit does not often have change available and we ask parents to pay in exact change wherever possible.

Cheques can be made out to Girl Guides of Canada.

When collecting money at the start of the year and for certain events, we tend to collect a bunch of funds before making a deposit at the bank, so you might not see the cheque deposited right away.

Card payments via Square can be hit and miss as service in the gym can be spotty at times. We will do our best, but may ask you pay another way if the connection is not working.

Please note, you MUST email or print out confirmation of online bill payments to show your child has paid at the unit level. The payments do not appear in our treasury system for up to two weeks, by which time, you may have missed the deadline for payment. Confirming means we can count your payment right away and can help track down any payments that may have gone astray.

Online bill payments are NOT the same as e-transfers. You can find the Bill Payments section on your banking institution’s app or website in the same place you might pay your credit card bill, loan, or insurance.

You will need a specific account address to set up the payee and make the payment. Please note that each unit’s address is different, so if you are changing units, you will need to add a new payee.

For the address, you will need: the Unit’s banking ID, your child’s iMIS number, and the alphanumeric code for the payment.

For Sparks, the Unit ID is 060881. You can find your child’s iMIS number in the unit list here.

The three alphanumeric codes you can choose from are COOK (cookies), DUES, and EVNT (activities).

The address is formatted as follows (without the section breaks):

UNIT ID | iMIS NUMBER (add 0s to make it 10 digits) | CODE.

For example, if you wanted to pay the Spark unit, and your child’s iMIS number was 1234567, and you wanted to pay for cookies, the address would look like this: 0608810001234567COOK.
